the Max a/c of yesteryear and the one today

Growing up you probably at one time or another rode in a big car that had a pretty mean a/c system and when it was really hot outside your parents had the max a/c on which was only used when it was really hot otherwise they complained it used to much gas and you as the kid in the group had to suck it up and deal with it and the heat in the back seat.

Well those days are gone now and( max a/c )or the recirculate button on your hvac panel is your friend! What this mode does is recirculate air that’s been already cooled inside the vehicle and just keeps cooling and removing humidity from the air inside  which also means you aren’t making the a/c system work overtime by pulling in outside hot air trying condition that air! your cooling system, engine, charging system will thankyou by not using as much fuel as you would of trying to take that outside (hotspa air) trying to give you goosepimples, it takes alot of work to do that.

I try to explain this principle at least 1 time to our customers its just better a way to be smart operator with your vehicle and save some fuel and also be alot more comfortable!

IS IT REALLY A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM?

I am seeing issues with cust vehicles thats causing them to assume there’s a trans problem.   alot of times it ends of being some type of voltage variation issues.  Such as corroded battery boxes in which the car batteries manufactured today in my opinion cannot handle the stress of heat more than any other problem we see and to make some of those corrosion issues go away, we have been installing  AGM or glass mat type batteries, also the optima gel like battery.

Its also amazing how many times we have ran into dirty radiator cooling fins  which causes  of all things higher transmission fluid operating temps which can cause trans shifting issues.
